The XMax V4 Pro suits anyone who wants convection flavour from a portable vaporizer without a high price tag. It builds on what made the V3 Pro so popular and adds features you usually only see on more expensive devices, especially adjustable airflow and improved water pipe support.
If you like being able to control how your draw feels, the three-level airflow makes a real difference. Add in both Session and On-Demand modes and you can match the vaporizer to your pace, whether you want a longer sit-down session or just a quick pull or two.
Water pipe users will also appreciate the included glass mouthpiece, which fits directly into 14mm or 18mm joints with no separate adapter required. And because it uses a replaceable 18650 battery, carrying a spare means no waiting around for charging.
Adjustable airflow
The V4 Pro has three-level adjustable airflow built into the body, with no extra parts to attach or lose. A simple switch lets you move between three settings.
At the widest setting, air flows freely for a lighter, more open draw. At the most restricted setting, the draw tightens up and can produce warmer, more concentrated pulls. The middle setting sits between the two.
On a convection vaporizer, airflow affects extraction because hot air is doing the work. A tighter draw keeps hot air in contact with your herbs longer, while a wide-open setting allows bigger, cooler pulls. Having three options makes it easier to tailor the experience to both your temperature and your preference.
Convection heating for clean flavour
The V4 Pro uses convection heating, where hot air passes through your dry herb rather than sitting directly on a heated surface. This helps preserve more delicate flavour notes and provides a cleaner overall vapour.
Lower temperatures (around 150°C to 170°C) tend to highlight lighter flavours, while higher settings (190°C to 220°C) produce thicker vapour.
Session and On-Demand modes
The V4 Pro includes two distinct heating modes.
In Session Mode, the vaporizer holds your set temperature for either 4 or 6 minutes, depending on which timer you choose. This suits longer, relaxed sessions.
In On-Demand Mode, heating only happens while you hold the button, with a 30-second limit per press. This suits quick draws and can be more efficient if you only want a pull or two.
To switch modes, hold the up and down buttons together for around two seconds.
Built-in water pipe adapter
The glass mouthpiece attaches magnetically and also works as a native water pipe adapter. It fits both 14mm and 18mm joints directly, with no extra parts to buy.
Glass helps preserve flavour because it doesn’t add taste of its own. If you prefer the V3 Pro mouthpieces, those are cross-compatible with the V4 Pro.
For water pipe use, the OLED display flips upside down so it remains readable when the device is inverted.
Design and build
The V4 Pro uses a slim, pen-style shape at approximately 2.5 × 2.5 × 16 cm, making it easy to carry in a jacket pocket or small bag. The colour OLED display shows current temperature, target temperature, heating mode and battery level.
Temperature adjusts in 1°C increments across the full 100°C to 220°C range using the two buttons below the display.
The battery door is screw-off rather than magnetic, so it stays secure and won’t pop open by accident. The USB-C port is side-mounted, allowing the vaporizer to stand upright while charging.
Battery and charging
The V4 Pro runs on a standard 18650 battery. You can swap it out in seconds by twisting off the battery door.
USB-C charging is supported via the side-mounted port. The device also includes standby behaviour when idle to help conserve battery.
If you want more runtime, higher-capacity 18650 batteries are available separately. Using an external charger can also be useful if you like keeping a spare battery ready to go.
Easy to keep clean
For regular upkeep, brush the chamber after each session. Every few sessions, wipe the chamber with an alcohol-dipped cotton swab to keep flavour fresh.
The mouthpiece can be disassembled for deeper cleaning. For a full clean, soak the removable parts in isopropyl alcohol for 10–20 minutes, rinse with clean water, and let everything dry fully before reassembling. Running a short burn-off cycle at maximum temperature for a couple of minutes before your next session helps remove any remaining residue.
Using pre-filled capsules can reduce chamber mess significantly, as material stays contained and the chamber stays cleaner for longer.
